Pregnancy Week 33

Week 33:
A durian.  Apparently a stinky fruit found over in Asia/Japan area and is so stinky they have banned it from many hotels there.  Quite a bit of kicking' from critter and better news is that my sister and her husband closed on their house.  We finally have their boxes out of the nursery and the furniture sort of set up--still on sliders so we can move around and leave for a few days to get a feel for what we like best.  Once I have that done I will start putting Critters stuff away and organizing the room.
Boxes left our garage on Wednesday night and I watched Michael for a bit at my parents on Wednesday afternoon while they loaded boxes at my parents.  Manfriend and I had our last hospital class other than the breastfeeding one next week.  We got the tour of the birthing center.  Thursday afternoon while they moved more boxes out of my parents house into the truck I watched Michael and just felt "off" if that makes any sense.  I didn't feel awful but I didn't feel like myself.  Guess I just need to slow down and take it easy for a few days since it is getting hot and humid.
Crazy Dream:
(the only one I can recall) I kept hiding around in bushes outside of fast food chains and these kids on bikes kept going up to the drive thru windows at night after they were closed and climbing in to get drinks and cold food to eat.

And here is what the nursery looked like before the boxes left (a cardboard castle room according to Jen--and not exactly the Adventure is Out There/Up theme I am hoping for)
Starting to piece it together.  At least the furniture is where I want it.  Now to start putting stuff in drawers and such and putting down the rug and changing the comforter on the twin bed so that I can sleep in Critter's room once in a while as needed.
Thanks to my parents for getting us this very unique and beautiful nursery set.  We are considering getting a balloon thing that I've seen at Hobby Lobby to put over the flower on the furniture to tie it in better with our Up theme.  I also have some nifty blue lamps with white wicker over them that remind me of clouds.  Getting closer to Critter arriving and excited!

Pregnancy Week 32

Week 32:
Had a doctors appointment this week and have gained not a single pound since my visit 3 weeks ago.  Critter is still growing though as evident by the belly tape measurement that they do.  Critters has a heart rate of 145 and is doing quite well.  Still able to continue running and avoided the Rhogam (spelling) shot until after birth (hooray for me).  They wanted me to have the Tdap vaccine and to schedule it to come back another day.  I told them do it now or I will sign the refusal papers.  well, they found a nurse to give me the shot within a matter of 5 minutes.  She said it will feel like someone punched me in the arm tomorrow and that's normal.  Um, I don't get punched in the arm on a regular basis so not normal in my book.  Still sore 5 days later but getting less sore each day.
We went for a mini road trip over the weekend to see my college roommate and teammate with her husband and son.   It was great getting to see them and catch up.  Starting to feel tired/exhausted again where I can't keep my eyes open.  I know Critter is growing about 1/2 a pound a week and up to an inch a week.  Manfriend asked me if I was waddling the other day.  I suppose that happens for a few minutes when you sit in a car for 2 hours.  The "waddle" went away after a few minutes once my hips and such stretched back out from sitting.
Crazy Dream:
Involved grilling out and there was a giant wall of grilled pineapple.  We are talking about a 6 foot type fence made of grilled pineapple.

Fourth of July Stuff

The weekend started out on Friday with my nephews 2nd birthday party.  It was a small party with grandparents from both sides, his great-grandpa and Manfriend and me.  My sister did a great job with making a construction theme.

Manfriend and I got him a bulldozer that you pedal with a tow behind dump truck type thing.  He insisted that it get put in the sandbox.  Best part of his birthday gift is that I found it out to the curb a few weeks before on garbage night.  New mission, find something out to the curb for all of his birthdays and Christmas.  For Christmas he got a wooden sink and oven set that I had found out to the curb (we are talking heavy duty ones like you find in a school class).  Of course I also get him lots of little random things throughout the year.
That night was the lighting of the bay with the ring of fire.  It was a pretty bug free year with nice cool temps as well.  Perhaps it was pretty bug free because my Papa Bear sprayed bug spray around the yard a few days before.
Speaking of Papa Bear, he lit one of the floating paper lanterns that acts like a hot air balloon.  Well, he released it and it was kind of a dud and landed on his boat.  He scrambled into the boat and attempted to get it to float in the sky but it landed on the dock so he had to scramble out of the boat just as fast as he went into the boat and this time it ended up in the water.  Major dud of a lantern if you ask me.
On the 4th they brought back the boat parade.  My mom had us all helping her that morning to decorate my Grandpa's party barge.  The theme was Salute Our Troops.  The boat came out looking nice for the parade and more boats participated this year than before.  That afternoon was the usual family picnic/cookout and poker game.  Next year we are starting a Scat (31) card game.
I will save my birthday (Sunday, July 5) for another post.  How was your 4th of July weekend?

Week 31 Pregnancy

Week 31:
Not too much happening here with Critter.  I go for my doctors appointment next week so will have "updated" stats on heart beat and such.  Still running strong and taking an almost daily nap just because I can (and why not if I am getting up early to beat the heat).  Manfriend was excited because he is 31 years old  and Critter is 31 weeks old.  We celebrated my nephews 2nd birthday and had a nice 4th of July weekend at the cottage relaxing and spending time with family.  My birthday was on Sunday and my mom made me pancakes for breakfast and then we had some pumpkin pie instead of cake since I am still not really digging "sweet stuff" these days.  We headed home for Manfriend to get some work done from home and I was treated to lots of snuggles from my fur baby who tried to curl up in my lap and rest her head on my belly only to get kicked in the face and give me stink eye a few times before giving up.
No crazy dreams that I can recall, but I had a strong desire for some of those orange Circus Peanuts.  Figured someone would have them at the cottage since we always have in the past but not this year.  Fortunately a family member hadn't left to come down for the fireworks yet and graciously stopped to  accommodate my strange craving--but others were thinking about them when I mentioned them and figured so and so would have brought them.
Birthday afternoon looked like this--a little bit of radio Margaritaville on the computer, Thunder Paws wanting to snuggle and get attention, some reading and some sewing along with a non-alcoholic margarita (basically mix and water because I just love margarita flavor).

Up! themed baby shower

Awhile back my sister Jen asked me what theme I would like for my shower.  I said Up!  I had decorated our one guest bedroom in the Up! theme and had made our Christmas invitations for this past year based on the movie Up!  (I am quite the planner apparently).
Christmas Invites from 2014
Up! room
So Jen took the idea and went with it grabbing all the key details from the movie and incorporating them into the shower that she had to move to my aunts cottage the day before due to the weather.
She had little balloons cut out everywhere and framed photos of posters and things that you see in the movie.  The beverages were in a section she cleverly labeled drink up.
Upon arrival she pinned a grape soda badge on me and said, "you're in the club now."  Most of the family really didn't understand some of the small details she included but I appreciate all the effort she put into the small things that made the theme complete.  The invites were beyond adorable with the Up house on them along with the words Adventure is out There and a garden hose trim/border.
Of course she served up some yummy food including fruits, a veggie tray, scones, muffins,  cheese/cracker platter, egg dish, cookies, sticky buns and cinnamon rolls with a bonus dessert of make your own ice cream sundaes.
The family enjoyed all the yummy food and hanging out on a rainy day.  Critter and I were showered with lots of love and will get to continue our running adventures with our new Bob running stroller--the distance runner dream stroller!  Of course we also received some wonderful Dumbo items and great books to start our library.
Some more of the decorations--Adventure is Out There!
In addition to the grape soda badges for everyone to take home they were also given some of Kevin's Chocolates to take home.  Incase you are wondering Kevin is the bird in the movie that is lured out of hiding by chocolate.
She even had my parents put their handprints on a mailbox to make it look identical to the one in the movie.  I am telling you, she is a detail oriented party planner and everything came out perfect.  Thanks Jen for hosting a wonderful shower for Critter and I.
